To get the right coverage and pricing for your vehicle service contract, we need to know your car’s total odometer miles — not the trip meter!
The odometer shows the total number of miles your vehicle has driven since it was brand new. This number helps us figure out which coverage plans are available and how much they cost.
The trip meter is a separate counter you can reset anytime. It’s usually used to track how far you’ve driven during a single trip. It does not show total miles and should not be used for coverage quotes.
If your dashboard shows:
You should report 72,458 miles — that’s your total vehicle mileage.
